We're really excited to share with you the latest work from kiwi designer Ali Davies. She is launching into the world of bespoke curtaining which means we can give you one-of-a-kind style that no one else has - perfectly tailored to the colours and needs of your interiors.

The designs are printed on one of our favourite Hemptech linens called Messina - it is extra wide which means these customised designs become even more versatile.

We have a lovely drop of the 'Flora and Fauna' design to hang in the studio, so pop by to see it in all it's glory, and speak to us about getting your very own piece of customised Ali Davies textile in your home!

New Ribbon Stripe Lampshades

We've just had this adorable pair of lampshades custom made for a client of ours - she has very limited space on her bedside tables so we specified this unusual, elliptical shape to maximise that gorgeous stripe, but minimise the space they take up. The fabric is a multi-stripe ribbon weave called 'Sapphira' by Harlequin!

Mano - Furniture Design

Check out these super cool pieces by Wairarapa based furniture designers Mano. They do some seriously cool 'out of the box' things by mixing traditional and contemporary design features, lacquered finishes and beautiful wood grain. On top of furniture design - both stock and custom - they've even dabbled in interior fit out work too!

Dylan Law Cabinetry

We're blown away by the awesome work of local Wellington cabinet maker, Dylan Law. His specialty is laminating pieces of fabric under resin and setting them into his work to create truly one of a kind pieces of furniture. Follow him over here and be totally inspired!

Furniture by Trunk Studio

Somewhat reminiscent of the Don chairs of the 60's and 70's that us Kiwi's know and love, Canadian designers Trunk Studio are producing some very cool chairs and other items of furniture that are simple, clean lined and timeless in style and materiality to equally suit today's interiors market. Such a shame that they are so far away, but wonderful to admire images of none-the-less!

Their 'Station Chair' is inspired by memories of canoe tripping and snowshoeing through the forest, with the wool based upholstery evoking feelings of snuggling under a warm blanket at night. Lovely!

A Custom Designed Privacy Screen

Just before Christmas we commissioned our lovely joiner, Terry to make a room dividing/privacy screen for a client of ours.

The timber frame has been lacquered in Resene 'Bianca', and the fabric panel inserts are James Dunlop 'Jardin' poppy on the fronts, with plain, crisp white outdoor grade fabric on the backs to add some protection from the sun reflecting off of Wellington harbour outside.

We were so pleased with how it turned out, and the client was too!

Lost Storm Custom Print

The clever ladies at SF Design have re-worked and custom printed their 'Lost Storm' design into metres and metres of delicious fabric that is soon going to be made up into curtaining for a lovely client of ours. We can't wait to see it all finished!

Te Kairanga Winery - An Interior Project

For the last four months we have been working away at our latest interior design project - the fit out of the tasting room at Te Kairanga Winery in Martinborough. This job has been mammoth, including specification of paint colours, the design of wine and merchandise display systems and custom furniture, layout arrangements, lighting specification and supply, designing various forms of signage using the new company branding, custom printing fabric for blinds and lampshades, and all the way through to the little things like supplying hanging baskets for the entry way. Phew! It's been a really fun, and really successful job. Here are some images for you to enjoy!

Candywhistle

We've recently been helping the lovely Holly from Candywhistle with a particular element of some custom design work for one of her clients - so we thought we'd share a little about what she does!

Candywhistle is a furniture and spatial design company - specialising in crisp, clean, contemporary pieces of design work.

Her 'Gallons' table was recently a finalist in the 2012 HOME NZ Design Awards - pretty awesome really!

Custom Made Desk

Check out this awesome desk custom made by our joiner, Terry. A lovely client of ours came to us with some images and ideas of the sort of thing she was looking for but just couldn't find - so we worked together to create this retro vibe desk from lightly white washed solid oak with turned legs and lacquered drawer front on push catch runners.

Teeny Tiny Lamp Shades

An exciting bag of tiny lampshades has just turned up - they've been made using the fabric we had custom printed at Sparkk...can't wait to get them out to site!

We've just begun the process of customising some client work with them, so fingers crossed we'll be able to share the finished product with you soon!
