Where Interior Design Meets Artistic Photography

As interior designers we have new product shown to us all the time - and each week we see numerous catalogs and brochures advertising the latest release fabrics and wallpapers, so it can often take some clever styling and photography to make us sit up and take notice!

Russian Architectural Digest - an architectural and interior design magazine - turned to Africa for their latest product shoot inspiration; layering furnishing fabrics and papers in an African head wrap style, perhaps more akin to fashion photography. I love it!

The Hexagon is the New Black

The hexagon is taking over all things interior at the moment; from tiles to paneling, from wallpaper to shelving... there are lots of ways to use this geometric delight in your home or commercial environment.
Like the well-loved rectangular subway tile, it is still a classic shape that can cross traditional and contemporary divides easily, but somehow is just that little bit more fun...!

Cotton & Flax

Erin Dollar is the owner, maker, and designer behind Cotton & Flax. Since 2010, she has been creating limited edition textile goods, as well as fine art prints on paper, from her home studio in Los Angeles, California.
Each step of the creation of Cotton & Flax textiles is completed by Erin, beginning with the pattern design and the selection of heirloom quality fabrics. Erin draws each pattern by hand using brush and ink, and the drawing is later transferred to a silkscreen to create multiples on textiles. When it comes time to do the printing, Erin scours local sources to find beautiful linen and linen blend fabrics to hand print with her designs. She then carefully hand prints each piece of fabric with her original designs, which she later sews into pillows, teatowels, napkins, or coasters.
