In the esdesign Studio This Week

Life in the esdesign studio at the moment is preeeeetty busy... but busy in a good way! It is right about now that all of our suppliers cut off for new orders pre-Chrissy, so it's go go go to get our orders through in time so our lovely clients can have new sofas to sit on, coffee tables to put feet up on, wallpaper to feast their eyes on... all in time for Christmas!

Our website has just had a wee tickle up to go along with our new physical presence... we've simplified things and cleaned up the links so it should be nice and user friendly... take a peak!

Wow it's been a busy week in the esdesign studio - Katie has headed off home to the UK for a wee holiday so Eleanor and I are on the go go go!

Today I thought we'd share a few extra photos that we took of our new studio space to coincide with our opening last week - some of you who couldn't make it in have asked to see some pictures so here's a few more. Enjoy!

So... What Is It That We Do?

One thing that was very apparent at our studio opening earlier this week was that so many of you didn't realise just how many services we offer!

Yes, we are experts in curtaining and upholstery, but there are also many other strings to our bow, including full custom lampshade making, kitchen, bathroom and laundry design work including CAD drawings and council liaison, styling work and much more - just check out the list below!

A Cosy Corner in our Studio

Our new studio is slowly coming to life - we have our wee display area all set up now, as well as our fabric sampling area with lovely new surface tops and industrial castors for our sampling counter.
Our work area is still, well, a work in progress - so more photos will be following soon once our new desks arrive - along with details on our soon to come opening soiree which should be a lot of fun!

Sharkpig Studio

Quirky L.A. based production company Sharkpig have a new studio - check out the cool hidden entrance! It's so '70's bad but oh so cool', and then the secret bookcase opens up to reveal an all white studio complete with super cool pastel pink library ladder among other neat features!

As we have mentioned previously, we no longer have the retail showroom (an online store is coming later this year) but we have a great new studio space with all of our fabric sampling, as well as our in house sewing room so we can continue to bring you all of your custom made cushions, squabs, lampshades and other goodies!

If you would like to pop by for advice, fabrics or more please wing us a quick email or drop us a line to make an appointment so we can ensure someone is here to help you - though we won't be upset if you extra special folk (you know who you are) are in the area and want to pop by to say hello on the off-chance we're in!

We appreciate all of your wonderful support over the last 10 years, and we look forward to continuing to provide our interior design services for years to come!

Another Little Peek...

...at our soon to be new studio. It was probably our fault that the painters took a week longer then originally planned - we asked them to paint the window frames black to contrast with the white walls. Can you hear them cursing? Oops! But just how cool does it look!? Flooring goes in this weekend, then all of our gear early next week! Yippee!

We're On the Move!

This is our last week at our good old Marion Street premises - it's been home for 6 years, but it's time for a new challenge and a new change! We're working hard to get our new studio ready to share with you all, we're really excited to get in there, not long now! In the meantime we're working surrounded by a sea of orange packing boxes... oh and we thought we'd share a teeny wee sneak peak of the new space - more to come soon!

Controlled Chaos

Here's a little snapshot of the controlled (yes, controlled!) chaos that is our sewing room studio at the moment.
Our wonderful seamstress Leanne has been on loan to Peter Jackson for the last 18 months, but she is finally (woo hoo finally!!) heading back our way for good in the next couple of weeks, so we are very excited at the prospect of her clever clogs getting stuck into all our upholstery work.
We can't wait!!!
