Feature Fabric Friday: 'Bohemian Romance' by Mulberry Home

On Wednesday we were treated to a peek at the latest Mulberry Home fabric collection called Bohemian Romance. There are very few words that can describe just how sumptuous and divine this collection is; it includes velvet tartans, soft wools, herringbone, paisleys and Persian designs, pheasant prints and classic weaves. Think country lodge, study, man cave, library... the beautiful images speak for themselves!

These days it seems everyone is striving for slick, shiny, contemporary kitchens, so it's so refreshing to come across examples of beautifully designed and crafted kitchens in a more traditional style that work in effortlessly with modern day families.

We recently came across the work of UK company Plain English, and loved trawling through their online portfolio admiring the soft, subtle palettes of colour, carefully considered materials and the intricate detailing and hardware selections that absolutely turn ho hum kitchens into works of art.

Feature Fabric Friday: Nesfield Collection by Liberty

The latest range of Liberty fabrics has been released, and we are swooning over the rich, vibrant colours and intricate designs available in this collection called 'Nesfield'.

Inspired by 19th century British landscape architect William Nesfield, the designs celebrate botanical beauty and craftsmanship - a great range of very usable prints and weaves on linen, cotton and velvet, as well as some great co-ordinating wallpapers that would all work in both traditional or eclectic contemporary interiors.

Goodies from Anorak

We're busy squirreling away product ideas for our online store later this year, and we've recently come across the gorgeous wares from UK company Anorak. They create divine ranges of bedding, travel gear, homewares and tableware with designs inspired by the great outdoors. So cute!

The Home of Abigail Ahern

One of my favourite interior designers, Abigail Ahern, had her house featured recently in The Resident. Take a look!

Her signature dark colours are so delicious and moody - OK they're not everyone's taste and definitely don't suit many styles of NZ house (ie. low ceilings, small windows) but when layered with her perfect mix of contemporary and vintage, texture and pattern, dramatic vs subtle lighting, and oodles of quirkiness, man it works!

'Home Store' - Hastings, UK

Food writer and photographer Alistair Hendy has returned this three-storey Georgian town-house into a homewares store reminiscent of a bygone era - the stripped back interior creates the perfect backdrop for his choice of beautifully simple, functional, clean lined home goods allowing them to stand alone - and at the same time creating a feel of stepping back in time complete with dark brown timber tones, wall panelling and creaky floorboards. So clever! Wish we were in the UK to check it out!
