Bo Nuage - A Black & White Bakery

Check out this fabulous bakery in L.A. called Bo Nuage. Interior designer Jessica Marx took inspiration from traditional aspects of French pastry shops including white walls, moulding and marbled surfaces, then ramped everything up a few notches to create this smart, glossy, slick, modern interior. Quite simple in concept but brilliantly executed.

'Home Store' - Hastings, UK

Food writer and photographer Alistair Hendy has returned this three-storey Georgian town-house into a homewares store reminiscent of a bygone era - the stripped back interior creates the perfect backdrop for his choice of beautifully simple, functional, clean lined home goods allowing them to stand alone - and at the same time creating a feel of stepping back in time complete with dark brown timber tones, wall panelling and creaky floorboards. So clever! Wish we were in the UK to check it out!

Don't Be Sad... You Can Still Shop With Us ONLINE!

So as you know our lease is coming to an end. This has given us the opportunity to move to our next phase of esdesign - providing solely professional interior design consultancy to our clients.

However..... yes we will be closing the retail shop, but from 2014 we will be moving the retail side of the business ONLINE.

Questions on your mind:

Can we still pop in to look at fabrics? - Yes there will still be the opportunity to pop in and browse our lovely array of fabrics, however in the New Year this will change to appointment only.

Can we still get our upholstery done and lampshades made? - Yes again this will be arranged through an appointment or via email.

Also don't forget our last retail day (in store) is Saturday 21^st December 2013. If anyone has any other questions, don't hesitate to contact us or pop in and say hello before we head off for the holidays!

  

Important Shop Updates

It's been a bit quiet this week on the Facebook and blog front - we've been heads down tails up and working on some exciting interiors jobs!

As most of you know, there's been a bit of shuffling going on at esdesign this year with the lovely Chelsea heading off on her overseas adventures, the addition of the fabulous Katie to our team, and our general manager Nikki now working in studio one day a week and a bit more from home while she embraces life with a new baby! Therefore, so that we can continue to be as productive and efficient as possible in our client design work, we have decided to make a couple of adjustments to our studio opening hours - please read on so you don't get caught out!

As was the case a couple of years ago, we will now be CLOSED on Mondays - still remaining open to the public from Tuesday to Friday from 10am until 5pm. We have also listened to you, our lovely loyal customers, and will now be EXTENDING our opening hours on Saturday from 10am until 5pm. We hope that this will help make it easier for you to get in to see us during your busy weekends!

These changes are effective from tomorrow onwards - we look foward to seeing you at esdesign soon!

New Product - Tote Bags

Over the last few months we've been developing some product ideas to stock in the showroom. Included are these tote bags, modeled here by Chelsea!

The tartan bags feature gorgeous NZ wool with black leather base and handles, while the more summery version is a piece of water-colour print linen with lovely soft tan leather. Let us know your thoughts!

In the Pipelines: Fabric Sale

We're letting you in on a little secret - on February 16th we are having a huge fabric sale. Like, MASSIVE.
All our roll ends and remnants have to go - we have no space left and with plans afoot for studio development later in the year, we just have to make room! So it's all going. ALL of it. There will be $5 and $10 bundles, packaged remnants and leftovers from our various projects, as well as large meterage on rolls of some great current and discontinued fabrics at ridiculous prices because we don't want anything left!
We'll be posting more info soon, but in the meantime, here's a secret squirrel snapshot of some of the bundles ready and rearing to go!
